Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are no longer confined to the realms of science fiction—they are rapidly reshaping the way businesses operate and how financial systems evolve. From enhancing decision-making in corporate strategy and risk management to redefining customer experience, logistics, and supply chain operations, AI and ML have become transformative forces across diverse sectors including banking, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, education, and retail.

This Special Issue invites high-quality theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research that explores the disruptive potential, practical applications, and unintended consequences of AI and ML in business and finance. We seek contributions that advance our understanding of how these technologies drive innovation, alter market dynamics, create competitive advantages, and influence organizational behavior and regulatory responses.

Key themes include but are not limited to the following:

  • AI/ML-driven business model innovation and performance in a sector/industry of your preference;
  • Algorithmic decision-making and corporate governance;
  • Financial forecasting, credit scoring, and risk analytics using AI;
  • Ethics, bias, transparency, and accountability in AI systems;
  • Sectoral case studies illustrating real-world AI implementation;
  • The role of AI/ML in ESG, sustainable finance, and impact investing;
  • AI adoption and its impact on labor markets and firm productivity.

We welcome interdisciplinary perspectives that integrate insights from economics, finance, information systems, data science, organizational behavior, and policy. This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive, cross-sectoral view of how AI and ML are not only changing the rules of the game but also redefining what it means to compete and create value in the digital age.
