Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, “Exercise, Rehabilitation, and Women’s Health: Clinical Perspectives in Sports Medicine”, focuses on the clinical role of exercise in injury prevention, rehabilitation, functional recovery, and long-term health in women.

Exercise is an important part of prevention and recovery in many clinical and health settings. In women, physiological and musculoskeletal changes across the lifespan can affect physical function, recovery, and overall quality of life. These issues are especially relevant in middle-aged and older women, particularly in relation to menopause, aging, and declining musculoskeletal health.

We are interested in studies that examine how exercise can be used not simply as physical activity, but as a practical strategy for prevention, rehabilitation, and functional improvement. While this Special Issue welcomes research on women’s health across the lifespan, special attention will be given to middle-aged and older women.

We also welcome work addressing perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, especially studies examining how resistance training, nutrition, or their combined application can support musculoskeletal health, physical function, and healthy aging. In this area, we are particularly interested in clinically meaningful approaches that can be translated into practical recommendations.

We welcome original research articles, reviews, meta-analyses, and clinical studies addressing exercise interventions, exercise prescription, physical function, rehabilitation outcomes, musculoskeletal health, healthy aging, and related lifestyle strategies in women.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Exercise interventions in women;
  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation;
  • Exercise prescription and physical function;
  • Menopause, aging, and musculoskeletal health;
  • Resistance training and nutrition in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women;
  • Clinical outcomes of exercise training.

We hope this Special Issue will provide useful clinical and scientific perspectives on how exercise can support prevention, rehabilitation, recovery, and long-term health in women.
