Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Despite advances, coronary artery disease (CAD) still remains the major cause of death in both developed and developing countries. Lifestyle, environmental factors, and genetic factors pose risk factors for the development of CAD. Multiple pathophysiologic mechanisms may cause CAD, with atherosclerotic epicardial coronary artery obstruction being the most common. The principal goals in the care of patients with CAD are to secure the diagnosis, assess the extent of disease, relieve symptoms, and prevent future cardiac events such as acute coronary syndromes, revascularization, or death.

The present Special Issue aims to deepen the latest evidence in the field of the treatment of CAD, focusing on therapeutic non-revascularization advances. It will also provide a comprehensive updated review of the management of CAD in patients with diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

We welcome the submission of state-of-the-art review articles as well as cutting-edge original research papers dealing with the topics of advances in antianginal treatment and treatments that prevent disease progression in CAD.
