Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Remarkable advancements in spinal surgery has been observed in recent years, with innovations in technology, surgical techniques, and perioperative care significantly improving patient outcomes. However, complex spine procedures—ranging from intradural tumor resections to deformity corrections and metastatic spinal cord compression surgery—are high-risk interventions that demand meticulous planning, precision, and multidisciplinary expertise. This Special Issue, entitled “Enhancing Safety and Outcomes in Complex Spine Surgery”, aims to provide spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, and orthopedic specialists with an up-to-date guide on optimizing safety and effectiveness in these challenging cases. Each publication/chapter explores a critical area of complex spinal surgery, from innovative advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence to the latest techniques in endoscopic spine surgery and deformity correction.

By incorporating the expertise of leading surgeons, real-world case studies, and evidence-based approaches, this Special Issue aims to enhance decision-making, reduce complications, and improve the quality of life of patients. Whether addressing primary bone tumors, adolescent scoliosis, or the role of navigation systems, this Special Issue will focus on precision, patient-centered care, and the seamless integration of innovation into surgical practice. Regarding the ever-evolving landscape of spine surgery, this Special Issue serves as a practical and forward-thinking resource, guiding surgeons toward safer, more effective, and technologically advanced spine interventions.
