Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a prevalent vascular disorder resulting from impaired venous return, leading to symptoms such as varicose veins, edema, skin changes, and venous ulcers. Although advances in diagnostic imaging and treatment have improved patient care, the underlying pathophysiology is complex and not fully elucidated. Recent research has highlighted the roles of venous valve incompetence, venous hypertension, inflammation, and microcirculatory dysfunction. Despite these advances, standardized diagnostic and therapeutic protocols remain limited, underscoring the need for further investigation.
This Special Issue seeks to address key challenges in CVI diagnosis and management. These include enhancing diagnostic accuracy, refining patient stratification, and evaluating the effectiveness of the current and emerging treatments. Additionally, gaining deeper insights into the molecular and cellular mechanisms of CVI progression will support the development of targeted therapies and improve patient outcomes.
We welcome original research, reviews, and clinical trials covering all aspects of CVI. Topics of interest include novel diagnostic tools, biomarkers, pharmacological and surgical interventions, venotonic agents, endovenous therapies, wound management, and patient quality of life. Contributions exploring disease pathophysiology, risk factors, and prevention are also encouraged. We invite researchers and clinicians from vascular medicine, surgery, dermatology, radiology, and related disciplines to contribute. By bringing together innovative research and clinical insights, this Special Issue aims to advance understanding and improve care for patients with chronic venous insufficiency.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Clinical Medicine is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
