Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The role of exercise in managing chronic pain has gained increasing attention in recent decades. Once approached primarily through pharmacological means, chronic pain is now widely recognized as a condition requiring a multifaceted therapeutic strategy. Among these, exercise stands out as a safe, effective, and accessible intervention. Its benefits extend beyond pain reduction to include improvements in physical function, psychological well-being, and quality of life. Recent research has deepened our understanding of the underlying mechanisms through which exercise modulates pain pathways, while also highlighting the importance of individualized, patient-centered approaches. Nevertheless, challenges remain in optimizing exercise protocols and ensuring long-term adherence, particularly in populations with severe or complex pain conditions. In this Special Issue, we invite researchers and clinicians to submit original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies that explore the role of exercise in chronic pain—from mechanistic insights and clinical trials to implementation strategies and rehabilitation outcomes.
