Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes mellitus are two of the most prevalent and interrelated chronic conditions worldwide, contributing significantly to global morbidity and mortality. Diabetes is a major risk factor for the development and progression of CVD, and their coexistence presents complex challenges for clinical management and public health. This Special Issue aims to explore the multifaceted relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease, focusing on current treatment strategies and emerging therapeutic options.

We invite contributions that address the pathophysiological mechanisms linking diabetes and CVD, novel biomarkers for early detection, and innovative approaches to risk stratification. Topics of interest include lifestyle interventions, pharmacological therapies, advances in glucose-lowering agents with cardiovascular benefits, and integrated care models. Special attention will be given to clinical trials that offer insights into improving patient outcomes.

By bringing together original research articles and reviews, this Special Issue seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art in managing diabetes-related cardiovascular complications. Our goal is to foster interdisciplinary dialog and promote evidence-based strategies that can be implemented in diverse healthcare settings.
