Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
With our contribution to this topic, we would like to give it the importance it deserves in terms of surgical and postsurgical approaches. Nowadays, implants and implantable devices are accessible to everyone, but the criteria for patient selection often seem unclear. We would like to consider original research or reviews of middle ear and skull base surgery, the management of the surgical time, and the admission to the referral center for otoneurological (audiological and vestibular) rehabilitation.
This Special Issue aims to present an update on and disseminate the most recent advances related to cochlear implant cases in non-ordinary and complex cases and highlight the importance of rehabilitation. We consider contributions addressing the aspects mentioned above.
Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Cochlear implant in cases of advanced cochlear fibrosis or ossification;
- Petrosectomy and cochlear implants: audiological management;
- Cochlear implant in Schwannoma patients: audiological management and fitting strategies;
- Cochlear implants in patients with inner ear tumors;
- Cognitive aspects of single-sided deafness in cochlear implant patients;
- Auditory rehabilitation and surgical features in explanted and reimplanted patients;
- Cochlear implant complications;
- Osia management in a large case series.
