Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The area of obsessive–compulsive and related spectrum disorders (tic disorders/Tourette, body-focused repetitive behaviors, hoarding, misophonia, etc.) has seen significant change and advancement within the last several years. There have been shifts in mindset with respect to assessment tools and approaches, diagnostic markers and foci, treatment approaches and techniques, and increased awareness of the impact of these conditions on individuals, families, and communities.

The aim of this Special Issue is to identify and illuminate some of the many changes in assessment and treatment of these conditions. Theoretical constructs, practical applications, and supporting outcomes are of specific interest, including the following sample topics:

  • Theoretical foundations of disorder classification;
  • The role of co-occuring conditions (e.g., Autism, intellectual disability) in assessment and/or treatment of OCD and related spectrum disorders;
  • Utility of assessment approaches for OCD and related spectrum disorders;
  • Selection and effectiveness of treatment techniques for OCD and related spectrum disorders;
  • Impact of, and modifications to, assessment and/or treatment approaches based upon quality of life.
