Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, underscoring the urgent need for innovative therapeutic strategies. The discovery of novel synthetic compounds and bioactive natural modulators has significantly expanded the repertoire of potential anticancer agents, offering new opportunities to improve efficacy, overcome drug resistance, and reduce adverse effects. Advances in medicinal chemistry, molecular pharmacology, and cancer biology have accelerated the identification of compounds targeting key signaling pathways and molecular mechanisms involved in tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue entitled "Novel Chemical Compounds and Natural Modulators in Anticancer Therapy: Synthesis, Biological Activity, and Mechanisms of Action". This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in the design, synthesis, biological evaluation, and mechanistic investigation of novel chemical compounds and natural modulators with anticancer potential. The topic is intended to provide a multidisciplinary platform for researchers in medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, toxicology, and related fields, highlighting studies that contribute to the development of innovative anticancer therapies and deepen our understanding of their molecular mechanisms of action. Original research articles, communications, and comprehensive review articles are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and synthesis of novel anticancer compounds;
  • Natural products and natural modulators with anticancer activity;
  • Structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies;
  • Molecular mechanisms of anticancer action;
  • Targeted therapies and modulation of cancer signaling pathways;
  • Drug resistance and strategies to overcome resistance;
  • Combination therapies involving synthetic and natural agents;
  • In vitro and in vivo biological evaluation of anticancer candidates;
  • Computational approaches, molecular docking, and AI-assisted drug discovery;
  • Preclinical studies supporting anticancer drug development.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
