Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue aims to reveal the toxicological impact of emerging environmental pollutants on the environment and humans. Recent findings highlight how a wide range of man-made nanoparticles, including metal-based quantum dots and many drug delivery vehicles, pose severe risks to both environmental ecosystems and human health. To address these threats, this Special Issue focuses on in vivo, in vitro, and in silico investigations exploring the impacts of these nanoparticles, with a particular emphasis on uncovering their specific interaction mechanisms with cellular components and their consequential impacts. By gathering these diverse methodological approaches, we aim to clarify the precise cellular and molecular pathways driving the toxicity of these emerging contaminants.
We are pleased to invite your submissions to a forthcoming Special Issue of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences focusing on the “Cellular and Molecular Toxicology of Emerging Environmental Pollutants”. Given your distinguished expertise in this field, we believe your current research would make a highly valuable contribution to this collection.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- 6PPD/6PPD-Q and their metabolized products and interaction with the cell;
- The environmental or health impacts of man-made nanoparticles.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
