Dear Colleagues,
Natural products have always been a great source and cornerstone of pharmacological discoveries, offering not only biologically active but also structurally diverse compounds that continue to inspire modern therapeutics. The advent and integration of different computational approaches, novel extraction methods, advanced analytical techniques, and molecular biology have also significantly accelerated further exploration of natural compounds for drug leads and development.
This Special Issue will bring together a collection of high-quality contributions that will highlight the evolving landscape of the continuously growing natural product research and its translational potential. The articles to be featured in this Special Issue are expected to span a wide spectrum of topics, including but not limited to extraction techniques, phytochemical characterization, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, mechanism-based studies, innovative formulation strategies, and delivery systems. Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of medicinal plants, marine-derived metabolites, and microbial compounds in addressing contemporary health challenges ranging from chronic disorders to antimicrobial resistance and metabolic diseases. The issue will also underscore the need for ethics, access, interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainability in relation to rigorous scientific validation, standardization, and safety assessment to bridge the gap between evidence-based medicine and traditional knowledge.
It is hoped that this Special Issue will encourage further research, stimulate innovation, and provide valuable insights for researchers, clinicians, society, and policymakers who are dedicated to advancing pharmacological sciences through natural products.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
