Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Rapid advancements in computational science are fundamentally transforming biomedicine, offering unprecedented opportunities to unravel complex biological mechanisms, accelerate drug discovery, and personalize healthcare. This Special Issue, "Computational Approaches in Biomedicine: Innovations and Insights", aims to highlight the cutting-edge developments and significant impact of computational methodologies across the diverse landscape of biomedical research.
We invite contributions that showcase novel computational techniques, algorithms, and their applications, as well as models applied to critical challenges in biomedicine. Topics of interest span a wide spectrum, including but not limited to the following: bioinformatics and genomics, with a focus on big data analysis, gene expression, and epigenetics; computational structural biology and cheminformatics, encompassing molecular docking, dynamics simulations, and de novo drug design; medical imaging analysis, leveraging machine learning and deep learning for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment planning; and systems biology, integrating multi-omic data to model disease pathways and predict therapeutic responses. We are particularly interested in submissions that demonstrate innovative applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and high-performance computing in areas such as precision medicine, biomarker discovery, and the development of new therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, papers addressing the computational challenges inherent in emerging fields like single-cell analysis, spatial transcriptomics, and synthetic biology are highly encouraged.
This Special Issue seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the transformative power of computational approaches, fostering interdisciplinary discussions and inspiring future research at the exciting intersection of computation and biomedicine. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and short communications that present significant advances and offer valuable insights into innovative solutions shaping the future of biomedical science and healthcare.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
