Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

As the global transition toward carbon neutrality accelerates, the energy and transportation sectors are undergoing profound changes driven by decarbonization, electrification, digitalization, and intelligence. Advanced energy storage technologies are essential for accommodating renewable energy, improving the flexibility and resilience of power systems, and supporting the widespread electrification of transportation. At the same time, intelligent vehicles, power electronics, electric propulsion, and data-driven control are rapidly reshaping mobility and creating new demands for safer, more efficient, and more reliable energy systems.

This Special Issue aims to present recent scientific advances and technological innovations at the intersection of energy storage, intelligent transportation, integrated energy systems, and artificial intelligence. Particular attention is given to research that bridges fundamental mechanisms and engineering applications, including advanced energy storage materials and devices, battery modeling and management, system design and control, vehicle electrification and intelligence, multi-energy coordination, and the application of artificial intelligence to energy forecasting, diagnosis, optimization, and technology development.

We welcome original research articles and comprehensive review papers that offer new theories, methods, technologies, or practical insights. Contributions integrating theoretical analysis, numerical modeling, experimental validation, and real-world demonstration are especially encouraged. Through this Special Issue, we hope to promote interdisciplinary exchange among researchers and engineers and to advance cleaner, smarter, safer, and more resilient energy and transportation systems.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
