Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Since 2003, the Australasian Colloid and Interface Society has convened regular biennial scientific meetings, bringing together colloid, surface, interface and materials scientists from Australia, New Zealand and beyond to share research and engage in scientific discourse.
ACIS 2026 was held from 1 to 4 February 2026 at the Stamford Grand Glenelg, South Australia, and attracted almost 180 delegates, including a strong cohort of students and early career researchers. The scientific programme was organised around seven themes: Colloidal and Interfacial Phenomena in Formulated Products; Bio-colloids and Biomaterials—Interfaces for Health and Agriculture; Colloids and Interfaces in Mineral Processing; Self-Assembly and Scattering Techniques; Fluid–Solid–Gas Interfaces—the Science of Wetting, Droplets and Bubble Formation; Colloids for Sustainability and Energy; and Frontiers in Colloids. The symposium featured a plenary lecture by Professor Lilo Pozzo (University of Washington), and the A. E. Alexander Award, the Society's highest honour, was presented to Professor Ben Boyd (Monash University) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to colloid and pharmaceutical science.
This Special Issue will gather original research and review contributions presented at ACIS 2026, alongside additional submissions from the wider community, reflecting the broad scope of the symposium. We invite researchers to contribute and to help build on the symposium's success in this dedicated forum.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Colloids and Interfaces is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
