Dear Colleagues,
The genomic era has transformed our understanding of plant evolution, revealing the molecular underpinnings of adaptation, diversification, and resilience across the tree of life. From pan-genomics and whole-genome duplications to landscape genomics and large-scale phylogenomic, recent advances are reshaping fundamental questions in plant biology—with special relevance for tropical biodiversity and conservation.
This Special Issue invites original research articles and reviews addressing the mechanisms driving plant evolution, adaptation, and diversity through genomic approaches. We particularly encourage submissions focusing on phylogeography—integrating phylogenetic history, fossil records, and geographic distribution of lineages to uncover the origins, dispersal routes, and evolutionary trajectories of plant groups—as well as studies on non-model species, tropical flora, comparative genomics, climate adaptation, population genomics, and the integration of genomic data with biodiversity and conservation frameworks.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Current Issues in Molecular Biology is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
