Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Plant diseases triggered by microbial pathogens cause massive global crop yield losses each year, severely threatening food security, agricultural sustainability and ecological balance. Conventional chemical disease control faces bottlenecks including pesticide residue, pathogen drug resistance and environmental pollution. Uncovering the molecular dialogue between host plants and invading pathogens, as well as dissecting innate plant immune resistance pathways, has become a core frontier of modern plant pathology. Decoding core resistance mechanisms lays critical theoretical foundations for breeding disease-resistant crop varieties and developing eco-friendly plant protection strategies, which bears prominent agricultural and ecological significance. We are pleased to invite you to submit original research and review manuscripts focusing on the molecular basis of plant–pathogen interactions.

This Special Issue aims to systematically gather cutting-edge research revealing molecular regulatory networks underlying plant–pathogen recognition, signal transduction and host resistance responses, fully aligning with the journal’s scope covering plant molecular biology, crop pathology and plant immunity.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following: pathogen effector protein functions; plant pattern recognition receptor (PRR) signaling; hormone-mediated immune regulation; host resistance gene cloning and functional verification; RNA-based plant disease resistance; epigenetic regulation in plant–pathogen crosstalk; biocontrol agent molecular mechanisms.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Current Issues in Molecular Biology is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
