Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cancer treatments, including radiation, chemotherapy, targeted agents, and their combinations, exert their effects by inducing diverse forms of cellular stress and DNA damage. The molecular mechanisms governing how cancer and normal tissues respond to these treatments are critical determinants of therapeutic efficacy, resistance, and toxicity. Understanding these responses is essential for improving treatment outcomes and minimizing adverse effects.

This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances in the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying therapy- and stress-induced responses in cancer and normal tissues. We welcome studies exploring DNA damage response and repair pathways, replication stress, transcriptional regulation, redox signaling, cell death mechanisms, and adaptive survival pathways. Emphasis is placed on how these processes influence cancer progression, therapeutic sensitivity, and resistance.

We seek studies that bridge basic and translational research, including the use of advanced model systems, identification of predictive biomarkers, and analysis of tumor–microenvironment interactions and normal tissue toxicity.

By integrating insights from diverse therapeutic modalities and stress conditions, this Special Issue seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the molecular basis of therapy response, ultimately contributing to the development of more effective and personalized cancer treatments.

Manuscript Submission Information

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Current Issues in Molecular Biology is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
