Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition caused by prenatal alcohol exposure, leading to lifelong cognitive, behavioral, and physical challenges. With an estimated global prevalence of up to 1%, FASD represents a significant public health concern, impacting not only the affected individuals but also their families and broader support systems. Despite advancements in research, gaps remain in early detection, intervention strategies, and long-term management.

This Special Issue aims to explore the full spectrum of FASD, from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment, and lifelong care. We seek the submission of original research and review articles that investigate innovative approaches to early identification, multidisciplinary treatment strategies, and the long-term health and social outcomes of individuals with FASD. Additionally, we welcome studies addressing barriers to care, policy implications, and community-based interventions that enhance support for affected individuals.

By bringing together diverse perspectives from researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, this Special Issue aims to advance knowledge and inform evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes across the lifespan for those individuals with FASD.
