Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Advanced technological techniques and instrumentation have altered the way of treating pediatric surgical diseases. Since the first laparoscopic interventions of the 19th century, almost all fields of operative surgery have been ruled by laparoscopy. The pediatric pioneers emerged during the early 1970s, initially for diagnostic reasons. Nevertheless, both diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy are used today, even in infancy, to correct pyloric stenosis, hernia, esophageal atresia, gastroesophageal reflux, and numerous other diseases. In this Special Issue, we would like to display the experience of pediatric surgeons in various laparoscopic operations, in the form of original articles but also reviews. We would love to create a forum of articles that would add to the evolution of this impressive and delicate technological achievement.
