Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Glioma is among the most aggressive and life-altering primary brain tumors, often imposing substantial physical, cognitive, and psychosocial burdens on patients and their families. Despite advances in surgical, radiation, and chemotherapeutic strategies, long-term survival remains limited, and quality of life is often severely compromised throughout the disease trajectory. Issues including physical symptoms, cognitive dysfunction, psychosocial challenges, and inadequate palliative care access continue to undermine patient well-being.

In recent years, increasing attention has been directed toward patient-centered care models that integrate multidisciplinary support, including rehabilitation, psychosocial services, palliative care, and digital health solutions. This Special Issue, “Improving Quality of Life for Glioma Patients: Enhancing Support Access”, focuses on innovative approaches to optimize supportive care, symptom management, psychosocial intervention, and multidisciplinary support for glioma patients. We aim to highlight clinical evidence, practical strategies, and care models that address unmet needs and improve daily functioning, emotional health, and overall quality of life. By integrating clinical insights, supportive care research, and translational perspectives, this issue seeks to advance equitable access to high-quality supportive and palliative care and ultimately improve outcomes for individuals and caregivers affected by diagnoses of glioma.
