Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The estimates of prevalence and incidence of different cancer types vary depending on the region and are characterized by the dynamics of changes between subsequent years. These dynamics also depend on the region. However, in the case of many cancer types, it is increasing. Understanding the risk factors contributing to these changes is an important issue from both the medical and public health economy perspectives.

Statistical models linking the estimates of the risk factors to the estimates of prevalence and incidence of different types of cancers could foster new insights into understanding of the dynamics of changes and prepare public health economy for future challenges. These models can be applied to both individual-level data and aggregated ecological data.

The purpose of this Special Issue is to collect the papers depicting epidemiological models that link risk factors and both incidence and prevalence rates regarding various types of cancer, for convenient comparison between the results acquired with different methods and for various cancer localizations.
