Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The diagnosis of a brain tumor generates great fear and uncertainty in most people, and it affects the patients’ entire family. Feelings of insecurity, being overwhelmed, or depression are not uncommon. During this distressing time, it is important to support both patients and their caregivers and help them maintain or even improve their quality of life. This support can take many forms, whether it is through conversation, exercise, arts, relaxation techniques, or creating spaces to share with others. Therefore, we wish to encourage all contributors (nurses, physicians, social workers, physiotherapists, psycho-oncologists, hospital chaplains, etc.) of this very important field of research to report on their supportive approaches, which are covered in this Special Issue.

Since this cannot always be expressed quantitatively, you are also cordially invited to share your qualitative analyses with us.

We are very much looking forward to receiving your inspiring contributions.

Dr. Dorothee Wiewrodt
Guest Editor
