Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the success in the treatment of end-stage liver diseases, the indications for liver transplantation (LT) have broadened in recent decades. Transplant oncology is an expanding field in the LT domain, which encompasses liver oncological indications (primary or secondary) for transplantation. After hepatocellular carcinoma, liver metastases from unresectable neuroendocrine neoplasms (NELM) were the first accepted and established malignant indication for transplantation. This Special Issue on Cancers focuses on updates on LT as an NELM treatment, as well as surgical and non-surgical interventional procedures, and recent advances in medical treatment. It is also dedicated to discussing advances in the molecular, biological, and radiological characterizations of NELM, improvements in patient criteria in addition to surgical technique and graft selection for this specific transplant indication, and the specificities of post-transplant patient care, such as immunosuppression protocols, monitoring, and treatment of possible recurrences.
