Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the field of neuromodulation has expanded significantly, offering innovative therapeutic strategies for complex neuropsychiatric and chronic pain disorders. Non-invasive brain stimulation techniques—such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), theta burst stimulation (TBS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS)—have demonstrated promising results in alleviating the symptoms of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and other refractory pain conditions.

This Special Issue will gather original research, clinical trials, and comprehensive reviews exploring the mechanisms, efficacy, optimization, and clinical applications of advanced neuromodulation therapies. We particularly welcome studies investigating personalized stimulation protocols, functional connectivity-based targeting, neuroplasticity biomarkers, and neurophysiological outcomes.

Contributions focusing on translational approaches, novel stimulation paradigms, or integrative therapies (e.g., combining neuromodulation with psychotherapy, pharmacology, or neuroimaging) are strongly encouraged.

This Special Issue will provide an updated, evidence-based perspective that supports clinical decision-making and stimulates the future development of safe, effective, and individualized neuromodulation treatments for populations with chronic pain and psychiatric disorders.
