We are pleased to announce the winners of the Brain Sciences 2023 Young Investigator Award: Dr. Alessandra Borsini and Dr. Daniele Bertoglio.
Dr. Alessandra Borsini is a senior postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Psychological Medicine at King’s College London, UK. Dr. Alessandra Borsini’s research interests include the brain, inflammation, and mental health. Dr. Alessandra Borsini received her Ph.D. in 2017 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 93 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Alessandra Borsini’s Scopus scientific citations number is 1425 and her Hirsch index is 20. She is clearly a rising star in the field of neuroimmunopsychiatry. Dr. Daniele Bertoglio is a tenure-track assistant professor at the Bio-Imaging Lab (BIL), Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences at the University of Antwerp. Dr. Daniele Bertoglio’s research exploits state-of-the-art small animal imaging modalities, namely magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, to identify candidate biomarkers to monitor disease progression, predict outcomes, and evaluate the efficacy of innovative therapeutics in preclinical models of neurological diseases. Dr. Daniele Bertoglio received his Ph.D. in 2019 and has an outstanding publication record, comprising 32 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Dr. Daniele Bertoglio’s Scopus scientific citations number is 354 and his Hirsch index is 11. He is clearly a rising star in the field of neuroimaging in neurological disorders. The awardees will each receive an honorarium of CHF 1500 and an offer to publish a paper free of charge before the end of 30 September 2023 in Brain Sciences following peer-review.
