Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue focuses on the rapidly expanding field of 3D bioprinting and additive manufacturing of biomaterials, highlighting innovative research that leverages the unique biological, physicochemical, and functional properties of natural, synthetic, and hybrid biomaterials. As advanced manufacturing technologies continue to transform biomedical engineering, regenerative medicine, and healthcare, biomaterials have emerged as essential building blocks for the fabrication of functional, patient-specific, and biologically active constructs.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the development and characterization of bioinks and printable biomaterials; extrusion-, inkjet-, stereolithography-, laser-, and light-based bioprinting techniques; tissue-engineered scaffolds; cell-laden constructs and bioprinting strategies; drug delivery systems; wound healing and tissue repair applications; musculoskeletal, neural, vascular, cardiac, and soft tissue regeneration; multifunctional, stimuli-responsive, and composite biomaterials; and biomimetic design and biofabrication.
Through this Special Issue, we aim to highlight recent advances in biomaterial-enabled 3D bioprinting and biofabrication, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and accelerate the development of innovative solutions for tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and healthcare applications.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Bioengineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
