Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Pain is the most concerning sign during surgery in animals due to its physiological, behavioral, and metabolic impacts. For this reason, pain management in animals has seen significant advances in recent years with the aim of improving animal welfare and the safety of surgical procedures. Therefore, this Special Issue, entitled “Innovative Strategies for Perioperative Pain Management in Veterinary Surgery”, will promote evidence-based innovative novel methods for postoperative pain assessment, nociception evaluation, anesthetic protocols, multimodal pain management strategies, and monitoring technologies.

Additionally, this Special Issue will explore strategies for assessing surgical and anesthetic risks in critical patients that contribute to innovation in veterinary anesthesia and surgery. For this reason, we invite the submission of comprehensive reviews, systematic reviews, original research, and novel practical contributions related to perioperative care. Through this Special Issue, we will promote the exchange of knowledge from diverse perspectives in this field, with the goal of addressing challenges in veterinary medicine and supporting the preservation of animal health.
