Soil Health and Crop Nutrition in Different Soil Management Systems

Dear Colleagues,

One of the most important challenges in ensuring a successful future will be to feed a growing population in a context of climate change, yet without increasing the cultivated area. To meet this objective, it is vital to intensify global production levels, but to date, this intensification of agrosystems has generally led to a loss of biodiversity and soil degradation (loss of functionality), as observed in different regions with different climates and soils. The central challenge, therefore, lies in developing sustainable and efficient soil management systems that restore soil functions and the ecosystem services that our soils can provide, including crop nutrition, biomass production and water quality conservation.

This Special Issue showcases the latest research in the field of nutrition, fertilization and soil management in different cropping systems, focusing on the impact of emerging techniques, tools and technologies for the recovery of soil biodiversity and ecosystem services. Authors are invite to contribute all types of articles, such as original research, opinions and reviews.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
