Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The poultry industry continues to face significant challenges from emerging and re-emerging diseases that impact poultry health, welfare, and production efficiency. At the same time, there is an increasing consumer and regulatory demand for safe, sustainable poultry products free from antibiotic residues and harmful additives. This Special Issue, “New Insights into Poultry Diseases and Innovations in Diagnosis, Prevention, and Treatment”, will provide a multidisciplinary platform for the latest advances in poultry science.

We welcome original research articles, reviews, and case reports that explore the following topics:

  • Infectious and non-infectious diseases in commercial and backyard poultry;
  • Advanced diagnostic technologies, including molecular, immunological, and omics-based methodologies;
  • Pathogenesis, epidemiology, and evolutionary dynamics of avian pathogens;
  • Functional feed and water additives (e.g., phytogenics, polyphenols, probiotics, and organic and inorganic acids) with preventive or therapeutic effects;
  • Novel biomarkers for disease detection and monitoring;
  • Molecular diagnostics, immunopathology, histopathology, and biomarker discovery;
  • Integrated and sustainable strategies for disease control.

By combining traditional pathology with modern innovations in diagnostics, immunology, microbiology, and nutrition, this Special Issue will showcase interdisciplinary collaboration across veterinary pathology, microbiology, immunology, nutrition, and biotechnology. Our ultimate goal is to support the adoption of sustainable practices that enhance both productivity and animal welfare within modern poultry production systems.
