Observed annually on 17 May, World Telecommunication and Information Society Day highlights the transformative role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in driving inclusive development, bridging digital divides, and strengthening global connectivity. The 2026 theme, “Digital Lifelines: Strengthening Resilience in a Connected World”, underscores the importance of robust, secure, and accessible digital infrastructure in supporting societies through crises, enabling continuity, and fostering long-term resilience.
Reflecting this mission, MDPI journals in Computer Science & Mathematics serve as platforms for scholarly exchange and collaboration, advancing research on digital connectivity, cybersecurity, emerging communication technologies, smart infrastructure, and the societal impacts of digital transformation. Through these efforts, MDPI supports meaningful dialogue and innovation to address both current and future challenges in building a resilient and connected world.
