Best Paper Award

The Buildings Best Paper Award is granted annually to highlight publications of high quality, scientific significance, and extensive influence. The evaluation committee members choose five articles of exceptional quality that were published in the journal the year before the previous year and announce them online by the end of June.

Each section will select a paper for the award. The five sections are as follows:

– Architectural Design, Urban Science, and Real Estate;
– Building Energy, Physics, Environment, and Systems;
– Building Materials and Repair and Renovation;
– Building Structures;
– Construction Management and Computers and Digitization. 

The prize consists of the following:

– Each winner will receive CHF 500, a certificate, and a voucher granting a full discount the article processing charge, valid for one year.

Eligibility and Requirements

– All papers published in Buildings will be eligible (both regular and Special Issue submissions).

Selection Criteria

– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Numbers of citations and downloads.
