IoT, Volume 6, Issue 4

December 2025 - 22 articles

Cover Story: The rapid growth of the Internet of Things has exposed fundamental challenges in trust, identity management, and access control across large-scale, heterogeneous, and resource-constrained environments. In this review, we examine how blockchain technologies address these challenges through decentralized trust frameworks, self-sovereign identity models, smart contract-based access control, and privacy-preserving cryptographic mechanisms. By synthesizing recent advances, architectures, and real-world IoT use cases, we highlight both the strengths and limitations of blockchain-enabled security solutions, identify key regulatory and scalability challenges, and outline future research directions for building secure, trustworthy, and interoperable IoT ecosystems. View this paper
