Implementation of a Circular Economy in Ukraine: The Context of European Integration
Abstract
:1. Introduction
2. Literature Review
3. Materials and Methods
- Step 1—formulation of the research hypothesis;
- Step 2—selection and review of profile sources on the subject of research, which may have a practical interest for the implementation of circular economy principles in Ukraine;
- Step 3—selection of statistical indicators for the quantitative analysis of the factors influencing the general volume of waste management, and development on this basis of the conceptual model of decision-making.

- All factor features have a positive effect on the resulting indicator—waste management I–IV classes, thousand tons;
- Increase in the volume of waste generated from economic activity per unit of GDP at constant 2011 purchasing power parities by 1 kg/$1000 leads to an increase in the resulting indicator—waste management I–IV classes by 952,737 thousand tonnes;
- Increase in emissions of pollutants per 1 thousand tons leads to an increase in the volume of waste management I–IV classes by 6884 thousand tons;
- Growth of capital investment in environmental protection by thousand UAH leads to an increase in the volume of waste management of I–IV classes by 0.007 thousand tonnes.
