Cover Story: We proposed a unique study where medical data was used not to plan the surgery but to predict its outcome. In the analysis, we also included the remaining vessels branching from the aortic arch outside the stenotic left internal carotid artery (LICA), since these vessels create an interconnected system supplying the brain. The proposed method can be used as a tool for the reconstruction of specific patients’ hemodynamic after operation of critical stenosis in the carotid artery. View the paper here.
