The journal retracts the article, “Assessing Mercury Contamination Levels in the Sediments of Two Pyrenean Lakes” [1], cited above.
Following publication, concerns were raised to the Editorial Office in relation to a lack of the appropriate permissions to publish specific content presented in this article [1].
Adhering to our complaints procedure, an investigation was conducted by the Editorial Office and the Editorial Board that confirmed that the data contained in this article are subject to an intellectual property agreement, and that the appropriate permission to publish such data had not been obtained. As retroactive permission could not be obtained, the Editorial Office, Editorial Board, and the authors have decided to retract and remove this article [1], as per MDPI’s retraction policy (https://www.mdpi.com/ethics#_bookmark30; accessed on 10 November 2024). As such, the title, the author information, and this retraction note will remain permanently available, and the article itself has been removed.
This retraction was approved by the Editor-in-Chief of the Diversity journal.
