The integration of digitalization and sustainability has become a prevailing trend in China’s current economic and social development. However, existing research rarely focuses on how emerging technology enterprises achieve responsible innovation through digital sustainability orientation. Based on resource orchestration theory, this study investigates the impact of digital sustainability orientation on responsible innovation, and explores the mediating role of resource orchestration and the moderating role of scientific ties, using a sample of 287 emerging technology enterprises. The empirical results show that: digital sustainability orientation positively influences responsible innovation; resource orchestration mediates the relationship between digital sustainability orientation and responsible innovation; scientific ties positively moderates the relationship between digital sustainability orientation and resource orchestration, and also positively moderates the mediating effect of resource orchestration on the relationship between digital sustainability orientation and responsible innovation. Furthermore, heterogeneity analysis reveals that the leading role of the sustainability orientation is greater than the enabling role of the digital orientation. This research clarifies the theoretical relationship and mechanism between digital sustainability orientation and responsible innovation, and offers practical guidance for emerging technology enterprises to promote responsible innovation. The overall knowledge structure, developmental context, and research frontiers in the field of bronze cultural relic corrosion and protection are lacking. This study employs bibliometric methods to comprehensively analyze 2614 relevant publications from 1906 to 2025 in the Web of Science Core Collection, utilizing the software Citespace 6.2.R3 to construct a knowledge map. The research results based on the number of publications and keyword statistics indicate that the research in this field has undergone a temporal evolution of research trends. Since 2010, the annual number of publications has grown rapidly, peaking in 2024, which reflects the continuously increasing academic attention given to the subject. Globally, China, Italy, and the United States are the leading contributors, forming a closely knit international cooperation network. Among these, China leads in total publications, though there remains room for improvement in its centrality within the collaborative network. Major research institutions are primarily large scientific organizations, such as the National Research Council of Italy and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Keyword analysis demonstrates that research hotspots have long centered on “corrosion mechanisms and control” and “innovative protection materials and technologies”. Temporal evolution analysis further indicates that the research paradigm is shifting: from the early investigations of mechanisms, through a middle phase focused on material development, to the current emphasis on the development of preventative and intelligent protection systems via multidisciplinary integration. This study systematically reviews the field’s evolutionary trajectory, collaboration networks, and thematic dynamics, providing a comprehensive reference for research planning and future development. This study investigates the impact of market structure on the performance of banks in Pakistan. It explicitly tests two competing hypotheses: the Structure–Conduct–Performance paradigm and the Efficient Structure Hypothesis, providing insights into whether profitability stems from market concentration or efficiency. The study employs the Data Envelopment Analysis approach to measure banking efficiency and uses the concentration ratio to capture market structure. A regression framework is applied, with efficiency and market structure as key explanatory variables. Further, bank-specific controls are included to examine their effects on performance, measured by Return on Assets. Results show that although the concentration of the five largest banks slightly declined, it remains relatively high at 58.5%. Banks, on average, operate at 67% efficiency with an upward trend over time. The findings lend more substantial support to the Efficient Structure Hypothesis, indicating that profitability is primarily driven by technical and scale efficiency rather than market concentration, with individual bank market share affecting performance only as an outcome of efficiency gains. The analysis highlights that efficiency improvements are crucial in enhancing banks’ performance in Pakistan. Over the years, the banking sector of Pakistan has evolved in terms of market structure, efficiency, and banks’ performance. This study interprets the changes in the market structure in the context of the structure conduct performance hypothesis and/or the efficient structure performance hypothesis and answers the question regarding whether market power and/or efficient structure is relevant to the banks’ performance. For policymakers, the results suggest that efforts to improve competitive efficiency, such as encouraging innovation, risk management, and capacity utilization, are more effective than focusing solely on altering market concentration. The global rise in chronic inflammatory diseases has fueled an increased demand for functional beverages containing bioactive compounds with anti-inflammatory properties. This review synthesizes trends in research output, technological innovation, and consumer behavior related to such beverages from 2006 to 2025. A total of 1635 peer-reviewed articles were analyzed using bibliometric tools and content analysis. Results indicate a thirteenfold increase in publications, with China, India, the USA, and Brazil leading in research output. Key themes include polyphenols, curcuminoids, fermentation, encapsulation, and non-thermal processing. The review identifies four major research clusters: antioxidant mechanisms, metabolic and cytokine regulation, plant-derived flavonoids, and phytochemical profiling. Consumer behavior analysis reveals that taste, clean-label appeal, and health claims influence market success. While technological advances such as nanoencapsulation and high-pressure processing improve bioavailability and sensory quality, gaps persist in clinical validation and regulatory harmonization. This study offers integrated insights for researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to guide innovation and evidence-based development of anti-inflammatory functional beverages. This study focuses on carbon emissions (CE) in the construction industry of Jiangxi Province. Using the emission factor method, it calculates the CE throughout the entire lifecycle of the construction sector and analyzes the trends and characteristics of emissions from 2008 to 2021. Grey correlation analysis and the STIRPAT model are employed to identify key influencing factors of CE, followed by corresponding emission reduction strategies and recommendations. The results show that CE from Jiangxi’s construction industry increased by 6.25 times between 2008 and 2021, with building material consumption and residential buildings accounting for 80% of the total lifecycle emissions. Key influencing factors include the gross output value of the construction industry, per capita GDP, regional population, and the level of green technology innovation, with the latter exhibiting an inhibitory effect on CE. The use of light electric vehicles (LEVs), such as electric bikes and electric scooters, is being increasingly adopted as a sustainable transportation solution in urban areas. This is driven by the need for cleaner, faster, and space-efficient mobility solutions in urban areas. Although research on LEVs has grown over time, it remains fragmented across disciplines, creating a need for an integrated study on how LEVs contribute to sustainable transport in urban areas. This study conducted a bibliometric review to identify key themes in LEVs and sustainable transport in urban areas, and proposed future research agendas based on conceptual patterns and research gaps. The Scopus database was utilised, with a focus on 552 publications covering the period from 2000 to 2025, retrieved on 30 September 2025. The Biblioshiny application (version 5.0) was used to perform bibliometric performance analysis and science mapping techniques. Results revealed that the publication trend steadily rose from 2015, with a significant upsurge after 2020, with an annual growth rate of 18.69%. Three dominant themes were identified, namely sustainability, integration with public transport, and technological innovations, alongside underexplored areas such as shared electric micromobility, freight delivery, and policy and governance. Research gaps remain in lifecycle impacts, social equity, and governance frameworks, highlighting the need for inclusive and sustainable LEV adoption. Future research should capture full lifecycle impacts, expand access to LEVs beyond current user groups, and align rapid technological advances with inclusive governance frameworks. Full article

The deep integration of the health industry and the digital economy represents a crucial pathway toward a sustainable and resilient future, as it enhances the competitiveness and promotes the orderly expansion of the health sector. Utilizing provincial panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2022, this study employs the entropy method and a coupling coordination model to quantify the coupling coordination degree between these sectors. Kernel density estimation and center of gravity–standard deviational ellipse analysis reveal spatiotemporal evolutionary patterns. Key findings include: ① Significant regional disparities exist in the development levels of both the health industry and the digital economy, with notable intra-regional variations among provinces. ② The coupling and coordination level of the health industry and digital economy development across China and within each region have shown a continuous growth trend. The regional levels are in the order of East > West > Central > Northeast, while the regional growth rates are East > Central > West > Northeast. Moreover, a polarization trend has emerged in the central and western regions. ③ The center of gravity of the spatial coupling coordination degree across the entire territory of China shows a clustering trend of moving towards the southeast. The spatial distribution pattern of the coupling coordination degree is in an east-northwest to west-southeast direction. The eastern and northeastern regions, respectively, show a dispersed and clustered trend of moving towards the southwest, while the central and western regions all show a clustered trend of moving towards the southeast. Based on this, policy suggestions are put forward for the deep integration and coordinated development of the health industry and the digital economy, with the aim of leveraging digital innovation to build a health sector that is socially inclusive, economically viable, and environmentally sustainable in the long term. The significance of access to energy sources for fostering innovation is increasing. Regions should, however, base their competitiveness not merely on innovation, but also on social cohesion and ecological ambitions. In this context, the objective of this article is to evaluate the sustainable competitiveness potential of Polish regions from the perspective of energy-related factors, as well as to identify the trends and the disparities observed over the past decade. The study employs a multidimensional comparative analysis (MCA), operationalized through the development of a Synthetic Measure of Potential (SMP) constructed from ten disaggregated indicators encompassing resource-related, economic, environmental, and social dimensions of energy. This approach is complemented by a cluster analysis using Ward’s method to identify patterns and groupings within the data. The empirical results demonstrate that sustainable competitiveness potential with regard to energy factors has generally increased, although it was not a linear process. The most favorable trend was observed for the generation of energy from renewable sources. An interesting side effect of transformation was observed in the energy balance. Further, despite the significant decrease in industrial electricity consumption per unit of gross value added, the energy poverty level increased. The study offers several practical implications for advancing the green transformation, emphasizing the uneven regional impacts of this process and underscoring the necessity of a coordinated policy framework to support the energy transition. Background: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into mobile health (mHealth) applications has been accelerated by the widespread adoption of smartphones and recent technological advances, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience has expanded the role of AI-powered apps in real-time health monitoring, early detection, and personalized treatment pathways. Aim: This review aims to summarize recent evidence on the use of AI in healthcare-related mobile applications, with a focus on clinical trends, practical implications, and future directions. Methods: Studies were prioritized based on methodological rigor, with systematic reviews forming the core of the analysis. Additional literature was considered to capture emerging trends and applications where a relevant rigorous screening and scoring procedure was applied to ensure methodological quality and relevance. Only studies addressing healthcare applications, rather than computational or computer science frameworks, were included to reflect the journal’s clinical scope. Results and Discussion: Fifty-six secondary studies were analyzed in detail. Thematic synthesis revealed a post-pandemic shift toward applications targeting mental health, chronic care management, and preventive services. Additional screening showed that, despite their increasing use in clinical contexts, few AI-based apps were formally classified as medical devices. This highlights a gap between technological innovation and regulatory oversight. Ethical concerns—including algorithm transparency, clinical responsibility, and data protection—were frequently reported across studies. Conclusions: This review underscores the growing impact of AI in mobile health, while drawing attention to unresolved challenges related to regulation, safety, and clinical accountability. A more robust integration into health systems will require clearer governance frameworks, validation standards, and interdisciplinary dialogue between developers, clinicians, and regulators. Promoting synergistic economic–resource–environmental development in resource-based cities (RBCs) is a fundamental requirement for ensuring national energy security and advancing regional sustainable and coordinated development. This study innovatively proposes the theoretical framework of “green transformation resilience (GTR)” based on evolutionary resilience theory, and then empirically explores the GTR of 114 RBCs in China from the perspective of urban development stages using multiple data models. The findings indicate that the GTR demonstrated an overall upward trend, though it remained at a consistently low level. Regenerative RBCs exhibited the highest GTR levels. GTR exhibits an uneven spatial distribution, primarily caused by super-variation density. The factor detection results indicate that factors such as government intervention, income level, and human capital have strong explanatory power for the spatial variation of GTR. Interaction analysis confirmed the significant nonlinear enhancement or bivariate enhancement of all pairs of factors. This study provides a basis for the differentiated development paths of GTR in China’s RBCs. Moreover, through factor interaction testing, it also offers guidance on policy combinations and prioritization for RBCs in different development stages. Full article

Smart farming integrates digital technologies to optimize agricultural production and promote sustainability. Its impact depends both on technological development and adoption by farmers. Research shows significant progress, but technical and socio-behavioral gaps remain, requiring integrated approaches to strengthen its contribution to the SDGs. In this context, scientific research on smart farming has grown significantly, becoming a key axis for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim of this study was to analyze the evolution, structure, and impact of scientific production in smart farming, identifying its main trends, authors, journals, and contributions to the SDGs. To this end, a bibliometric analysis was applied to 1580 articles indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database, using productivity, citation, and impact indicators based on Price’s, Lotka’s, Bradford’s, and Zipf’s laws, as well as the Hirsch index. The results reveal important growth in scientific production between 2014 and 2024, with a strong concentration in high-impact journals and international collaboration networks. In conclusion, smart farming represents an engine of innovation and sustainability, integrating science, technology, and digital management to address the global challenges of food security, climate change, and sustainable development. Understanding extreme precipitation (EP) evolution is crucial for global climate adaptation and hazardous disasters prevention. However, spatial non-stationarity of urbanization relationships with EP variations has been rarely discussed in a complex topographic context. Taking the city Liuzhou in China as the example, this study separately quantified the evolution of EP intensity, magnitude, duration, and frequency on different temporal scales with Innovative Trend Analysis (ITA). Based on a finer spatial (5 km grid) scale and multiple temporal (daily, daytime, nighttime, and 14 h) scale analyses, it innovatively identified spatially varying urbanization effects on EP with more details in different elevations. Our results indicate that: (1) from 2009 to 2023, EP events became more intense, persistent, and frequent, particularly for higher-grade EPs and in the steeper north of Liuzhou; (2) despite the globally negative correlations, spatial correlations between comprehensive urbanization (CUB) and each EP index on individual temporal scales were still explicitly categorized into four types using LISA maps—high-high, high-low, low-low, and low-high; (3) Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) was demonstrated to precisely explain the response of most EP characteristics to multiple manifestation of urbanization with respect to population (POP), economy (GDP), and urban area (URP) expansion (adjusted R2: 0.5–0.8). The predictive accuracy of GWR on urbanization and EPs was spatially non-stationary and variable with temporal scales. The local influential strength and direction varied significantly with elevations. The most significant and positive influences of three urbanization predictors on EPs occurred at different elevation grades, respectively. Compared with POP and GDP, urban area percent (URP) was indicated to positively relate to EP changes in more areas of Liuzhou. The spatial and quantitative relationships between urbanization and EPs can help to guide effective urban planning and location-specific management of flood risks. Full article

To enhance the monitoring and conservation efforts for China’s Class II endangered species, specifically the wild giant salamander and its ecosystems, this study addresses the urgent need to counteract the rapid decline of its wild population caused by habitat loss and insufficient surveillance. We present an innovative localization system based on passive Ultra-High-Frequency Radio Frequency Identification (UHF RFID) technology, employing a Double-Transform (D-Tr) methodology that integrates an enhanced 3D LANDMARC algorithm with GAIN generative adversarial networks. This system effectively reconstructs missing Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) data due to environmental barriers by applying a log-distance path loss model. The D-Tr framework simultaneously generates RSSI sequences alongside their first-order differential characteristics, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of spatiotemporal signal relationships. Field tests conducted in the Hubei Xianfeng Zhongjian River Giant Salamander National Nature Reserve reveal that the positioning error consistently remains within 10 cm, with average accuracy improvements of 20.075%, 15.331%, and 12.925% along the X, Y, and Z axes, respectively, compared to traditional time-series models such as long short-term memory (LSTM) and gated recurrent unit (GRU). This system, designed to investigate the behavioral patterns and movement paths of farmed giant salamanders, achieves centimeter-level tracking of their cave-dwelling activities. It provides essential technical support for quantitatively assessing their daily activity patterns, habitat choices, and population trends, thereby promoting a shift from passive oversight to proactive monitoring in the conservation of endangered species. Electrospinning, Forcespinning®, and melt electrowriting are becoming increasingly important fiber-based fabrication technologies for tissue engineering and drug delivery applications. Despite their scientific and industrial relevance, their patent landscape has not been systematically examined, which limits the understanding of technological dynamics and translational applications. This study addresses this gap through a patentometric analysis conducted within a Competitive Technology Intelligence framework. A total of 3557 active and granted Extended Patent Families from 2020 to 2024 were analyzed to identify temporal patterns, geographic distribution, key innovators, industrial sectors, and primary application areas. The results showed that the overall patent activity increased until 2022 before experiencing a slight decline. China dominates the landscape, accounting for approximately 62% of applications filed, largely driven by academic institutions such as Shanghai University. Leading industries include special-purpose machinery, medical and dental technology, and textiles. According to International Patent Classification codes, filament formation (D01D5/00) is prevalent, while electrospinning—specifically IPC D04H1/728—represents the most active and influential of the three technologies. These findings exhibit the technological dynamics shaping fiber-based fabrication platforms and underscore their growing relevance in pharmaceutical innovation. The identified trends position these technologies as foundational for next-generation biomaterial design, offering valuable insights for researchers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. Poor diet is the leading preventable risk factor for death worldwide, associated with over 10 million premature deaths and USD 8 trillion related costs every year. Artificial intelligence or AI is rapidly emerging as the most historically disruptive, innovatively dynamic, rapidly scaled, cost-efficient, and economically productive technology (which is increasingly providing transformative countermeasures to these negative health trends, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and underserved communities which bear the greatest burden from them). Yet widespread confusion persists among healthcare systems and policymakers on how to best identify, integrate, and evolve the safe, trusted, effective, affordable, and equitable AI solutions that are right for their communities, especially in public health nutrition. We therefore provide here the first known global, comprehensive, and actionable narrative review of the state of the art of AI-accelerated nutrition assessment and healthy eating for healthcare systems, generated by the first automated end-to-end empirical index for responsible health AI readiness and maturity: the Responsible Health AI readiness and Maturity Index (RHAMI). The index is built and the analysis and review conducted by a multi-national team spanning the Global North and South, consisting of front-line clinicians, ethicists, engineers, executives, administrators, public health practitioners, and policymakers. RHAMI analysis identified the top-performing healthcare systems and their nutrition AI, along with leading use cases including multimodal edge AI nutrition assessments as ambient intelligence, the strategic scaling of practical embedded precision nutrition platforms, and sovereign swarm agentic AI social networks for sustainable healthy diets. This index-based review is meant to facilitate standardized, continuous, automated, and real-time multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of AI capabilities and functionalities worldwide, aligned with healthcare systems’ strategic objectives, practical constraints, and local cultural values. The ultimate strategic objectives of the RHAMI’s application for AI-accelerated public health nutrition are to improve population health, financial efficiency, and societal equity through the global cooperation of the public and private sectors stretching across the Global North and South.
