The green transformation of traditional energy structures and the development of the new energy industry are crucial drivers of sustainable development in the country. The ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (2016–2025; APAEC [2016–2025]), established in 2016, has significantly promoted the growth of the new energy sector and enhanced energy structures across Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This initiative has also inspired these countries to develop corresponding industrial policies aimed at supporting the new energy vehicle (NEV) industry, resulting in significant growth in this sector within the ASEAN region. This paper analyzes the factors influencing the development of the NEV industry in the context of ASEAN’s new energy policies, drawing empirical insights from data collected across six ASEAN countries from 2013 to 2024. Following the implementation of the APAEC (2016–2025), it was observed that ASEAN countries reached a consensus on energy development and cooperation, collaboratively advancing the NEV industry through regional policies. Furthermore, factors such as national governance, financial development, education levels, and the size of the automotive market positively contribute to the growth of the NEV industry in ASEAN. Conversely, high energy consumption can hinder its progress. Additionally, further research indicates that the APAEC (2016–2025) has exerted a more pronounced impact on countries with robust automotive industry foundations or those prioritizing relevant policies. The findings of this paper offer valuable insights for ASEAN countries in the formulating policies for the NEV industry, optimizing energy structures, and achieving low-carbon energy transition and sustainable development. In intelligent vehicular networks, the accuracy of semantic segmentation in road scenes is crucial for vehicle-mounted artificial intelligence to achieve environmental perception, decision support, and safety control. Although deep learning methods have made significant progress, two main challenges remain: first, the difficulty in balancing global and local features leads to blurred object boundaries and misclassification; second, conventional convolutions have limited ability to perceive irregular objects, causing information loss and affecting segmentation accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes a global–local collaborative attention module and a spider web convolution module. The former enhances feature representation through bidirectional feature interaction and dynamic weight allocation, reducing false positives and missed detections. The latter introduces an asymmetric sampling topology and six-directional receptive field paths to effectively improve the recognition of irregular objects. Experiments on the Cityscapes, CamVid, and BDD100K datasets, collected using vehicle-mounted cameras, demonstrate that the proposed method performs excellently across multiple evaluation metrics, including mIoU, mRecall, mPrecision, and mAccuracy. Comparative experiments with classical segmentation networks, attention mechanisms, and convolution modules validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The proposed method demonstrates outstanding performance in sensor-based semantic segmentation tasks and is well-suited for environmental perception systems in autonomous driving. Full article

Intelligent driving technology is expected to reshape urban transportation, but its promotion is hindered by user acceptance challenges and diverse technical routes. This study proposes a comprehensive user acceptance evaluation framework for intelligent driving from the perspective of value engineering (VE). The novelty of this framework lies in three aspects: (1) It unifies behavioral theory and utility theory under the value engineering framework, and it extracts key indicators such as safety, travel efficiency, trust, comfort, and cost, thus addressing the issue of the lack of integration between subjective and objective factors in previous studies. (2) It establishes a systematic mapping mechanism from technical solutions to evaluation indicators, filling the gap of insufficient targeting at different technical routes in the existing literature. (3) It quantifies acceptance differences via VE’s core formula of V = F/C, overcoming the ambiguity of non-technical evaluation in prior research. A case study comparing single-vehicle intelligence vs. collaborative intelligence and different sensor combinations (vision-only, map fusion, and lidar fusion) shows that collaborative intelligence and vision-based solutions offer higher comprehensive acceptance due to balanced functionality and cost. This framework guides enterprises in technical strategy planning and assists governments in formulating industrial policies by quantifying acceptance differences across technical routes. Full article

The logistics industry faces challenges from evolving consumer expectations, technological advances, sustainability demands, and market disruptions. Logistics collaboration is in theory perceived as one of the most promising solutions to solve these issues, but here are still a lot of challenges that needs to be better understood and addressed. While vertical collaboration among supply chain actors is well advanced, horizontal collaboration among competing service providers remains under-explored. This study developed a novel methodology based on the COM-B behaviour-change framework to better understand the main challenges, opportunities, capabilities and drivers that would motivate competing companies to exploit the potential of horizontal logistics collaboration. A survey was designed and conducted among 71 logistics service providers in Slovenia, chosen for its fragmented market and low willingness to collaborate. Statistical analysis reveals cost reduction (M = 4.21/5) and improved vehicle utilization (M = 4.29/5) as the primary motivators. On the other hand, maintaining company reputation (M = 4.64/5), fair resource sharing (M = 4.20/5), and transparency of logistics processes (M = 4.17/5) all persist as key enabling conditions. These findings underscore the pivotal role of behavioural drivers and suggest strategies that combine economic incentives with targeted trust-building measures. Future research should employ experimental designs in diverse national contexts and integrate vertical–horizontal approaches to validate causal pathways and advance theory. Full article

Unmanned platforms such as unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned ground vehicles, and autonomous underwater vehicles often face challenges of data, device, and model heterogeneity when performing collaborative data processing tasks. Existing research does not simultaneously address issues from these three aspects. To address this issue, this study designs an unmanned platform cluster architecture inspired by the cloud-edge-end model. This architecture integrates federated learning for privacy protection, leverages the advantages of distributed model training, and utilizes edge computing’s near-source data processing capabilities. Additionally, this paper proposes a federated edge intelligence method (DSIA-FEI), which comprises two key components. Based on traditional federated learning, a data sharing mechanism is introduced, in which data is extracted from edge-side platforms and placed into a data sharing platform to form a public dataset. At the beginning of model training, random sampling is conducted from the public dataset and distributed to each unmanned platform, so as to mitigate the impact of data distribution heterogeneity and class imbalance during collaborative data processing in unmanned platforms. Moreover, an intelligent model aggregation strategy based on similarity measurement and loss gradient is developed. This strategy maps heterogeneous model parameters to a unified space via hierarchical parameter alignment, and evaluates the similarity between local and global models of edge devices in real-time, along with the loss gradient, to select the optimal model for global aggregation, reducing the influence of device and model heterogeneity on cooperative learning of unmanned platform swarms. This study carried out extensive validation on multiple datasets, and the experimental results showed that the accuracy of the DSIA-FEI proposed in this paper reaches 0.91, 0.91, 0.88, and 0.87 on the FEMNIST, FEAIR, EuroSAT, and RSSCN7 datasets, respectively, which is more than 10% higher than the baseline method. In addition, the number of communication rounds is reduced by more than 40%, which is better than the existing mainstream methods, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified. The maritime sector’s transition to sustainable energy is critical for achieving global carbon neutrality, with container terminals representing a key focus due to their high energy consumption and emissions. This study explores the potential of hydrogen energy as a decarbonization solution for port operations, using the Chuanshan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port (CPANZP) as a case study. Through a comprehensive analysis of hydrogen production, storage, refueling, and consumption technologies, we demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of integrating hydrogen systems into port infrastructure. Our findings highlight the successful deployment of a hybrid “wind-solar-hydrogen-storage” energy system at CPANZP, which achieves 49.67% renewable energy contribution and an annual reduction of 22,000 tons in carbon emissions. Key advancements include alkaline water electrolysis with 64.48% efficiency, multi-tier hydrogen storage systems, and fuel cell applications for vehicles and power generation. Despite these achievements, challenges such as high production costs, infrastructure scalability, and data integration gaps persist. The study underscores the importance of policy support, technological innovation, and international collaboration to overcome these barriers and accelerate the adoption of hydrogen energy in ports worldwide. This research provides actionable insights for port operators and policymakers aiming to balance operational efficiency with sustainability goals. Full article

Vehicle re-identification (Re-ID) is a critical computer vision task that aims to match the same vehicle across spatially distributed cameras, especially in the context of remote sensing imagery. While prior research has primarily focused on Re-ID using remote sensing images captured from similar, typically elevated viewpoints, these settings do not fully reflect complex aerial-ground collaborative remote sensing scenarios. In this work, we introduce a novel and challenging task: aerial-ground cross-view vehicle Re-ID, which involves retrieving vehicles in ground-view image galleries using query images captured from aerial (top-down) perspectives. This task is increasingly relevant due to the integration of drone-based surveillance and ground-level monitoring in multi-source remote sensing systems, yet it poses substantial challenges due to significant appearance variations between aerial and ground views. To support this task, we present AGID (Aerial-Ground Vehicle Re-Identification), the first benchmark dataset specifically designed for aerial-ground cross-view vehicle Re-ID. AGID comprises 20,785 remote sensing images of 834 vehicle identities, collected using drones and fixed ground cameras. We further propose a novel method, Enhanced Self-Correlation Feature Computation (ESFC), which enhances spatial relationships between semantically similar regions and incorporates shape information to improve feature discrimination. Extensive experiments on the AGID dataset and three widely used vehicle Re-ID benchmarks validate the effectiveness of our method, which achieves a Rank-1 accuracy of 69.0% on AGID, surpassing state-of-the-art approaches by 2.1%. This study investigates the optimization of urban parcel delivery by integrating logistics vehicles and onboard drones within a static road network. A centralized delivery hub is responsible for coordinating both modes of transport to minimize total vehicle operation costs and customer waiting times. A simulation-based framework is developed to accurately model the delivery process. An enhanced Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm is proposed, incorporating a multi-objective formulation to improve route planning efficiency. Additionally, a scheduling algorithm is designed to synchronize the operations of multiple delivery bikes and drones, ensuring coordinated execution. The proposed integrated approach yields substantial improvements in both cost and service efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate a 16% reduction in vehicle operation costs and an 8% decrease in average customer waiting times relative to benchmark methods, indicating the practical applicability of the approach in urban logistics scenarios. This paper presents a behavior tree-based control architecture for end-to-end mission planning of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) collaborating with a moving mothership in dynamic marine environments. The framework is organized into three phases—prepare and launch, execute the mission, and retrieval and docking—each encapsulated in an independent sub-tree to enable modular error handling and seamless phase transitions. The AUV and mothership operate entirely underwater, with real-time docking to a moving platform. An extended Kalman filter (EKF) fuses data from inertial, pressure, and acoustic sensors for accurate navigation and state estimation. At the same time, obstacle avoidance leverages forward-looking sonar (FLS)-based potential field methods to react to unpredictable underwater hazards. The system is implemented on the robot operating system (ROS) and validated in the Stonefish physics engine simulator. Simulation results demonstrate reliable mission execution, successful dynamic docking under communication delays and sensor noise, and robust retrieval from injected faults, confirming the validity and stability of the proposed architecture. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted critical vulnerabilities in urban logistics systems, particularly in last-mile delivery. To enhance logistics resilience and efficiency, the Korean government has initiated an innovative project that repurposes idle spaces in subway vehicle bases within the Seoul Metropolitan Area into logistics centers. This study proposes a comprehensive multi-criteria evaluation framework combining the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to assess the suitability of ten candidate sites. The evaluation criteria span four dimensions, facility, geographical, environmental, and social factors, derived from the literature and expert consultations. AHP results indicate that geographical factors, especially proximity to urban centers and major logistics facilities, hold the highest weight. Based on the integrated analysis using TOPSIS, the most suitable locations identified are Sinnae, Godeok, and Cheonwang. The findings suggest the strategic importance of aligning infrastructure development with spatial accessibility and stakeholder cooperation. Policy implications include the need for targeted investment, public–private collaboration, and sustainable logistics planning. Future research is encouraged to incorporate dynamic data and consider social equity and environmental impact for long-term urban logistics planning. Full article

This study evaluates the feasibility and visibility of electric vehicles (EVs) in Egypt, addressing critical research gaps and proposing actionable strategies to drive adoption. Employing a systematic review of academic, governmental, and industry sources, the paper identifies underexplored areas such as rural–urban adoption disparities, lifecycle assessments of EV batteries, and sociocultural barriers, including gender dynamics and entrenched consumer preferences. Its primary contribution is an interdisciplinary framework that integrates technical aspects, such as grid resilience and climate-related battery degradation, with socioeconomic dimensions, providing a holistic overview of EV feasibility in Egypt tailored to Egypt’s context. Key findings reveal infrastructure limitations, inconsistent policy frameworks, and behavioral skepticism as major hurdles, and highlight the untapped potential of renewable energy integration, particularly through synergies between solar PV generation (e.g., Benban Solar Park) and EV charging infrastructure. Recommendations prioritize policy reforms (e.g., tax incentives, streamlined tariffs), solar-powered charging infrastructure expansion, public awareness campaigns, and local EV manufacturing to stimulate economic growth. The study underscores the urgency of stakeholder collaboration to transform EVs into a mainstream solution, positioning Egypt as a regional leader in sustainable mobility and equitable development. This paper investigates the problem of computation offloading and resource allocation in an integrated space–air–sea network based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites supporting Maritime Internet of Things (M-IoT) devices. Considering the complex, dynamic environment comprising M-IoT devices, UAVs and LEO satellites, traditional optimization methods encounter significant limitations due to non-convexity and the combinatorial explosion in possible solutions. A multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG)-based optimization algorithm is proposed to address these challenges. This algorithm is designed to minimize the total system costs, balancing energy consumption and latency through partial task offloading within a cloud–edge-device collaborative mobile edge computing (MEC) system. A comprehensive system model is proposed, with the problem formulated as a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP) that integrates association control, power control, computing resource allocation, and task distribution. Each M-IoT device and UAV acts as an intelligent agent, collaboratively learning the optimal offloading strategies through a centralized training and decentralized execution framework inherent in the MADDPG. The numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of the proposed MADDPG-based approach, which demonstrates rapid convergence and significantly outperforms baseline methods, and indicate that the proposed MADDPG-based algorithm reduces the total system cost by 15–60% specifically. With the rapid development of vehicular network technology, data sharing and collaborative training among vehicles have become key to enhancing the efficiency of intelligent transportation systems. However, the heterogeneity of data and potential Byzantine attacks cause the model to update in different directions during the iterative process, causing the boundary between benign and malicious gradients to shift continuously. To address these issues, this paper proposes a privacy-preserving Byzantine-tolerant federated learning scheme. Specifically, we design a gradient detection method based on median absolute deviation (MAD), which calculates MAD in each round to set a gradient anomaly detection threshold, thereby achieving precise identification and dynamic filtering of malicious gradients. Additionally, to protect vehicle privacy, we obfuscate uploaded parameters to prevent leakage during transmission. Finally, during the aggregation phase, malicious gradients are eliminated, and only benign gradients are selected to participate in the global model update, which improves the model accuracy. A Lightweight Robust Training Method for Defending Model Poisoning Attacks in Federated Learning Assisted UAV Networks

The integration of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into next-generation wireless networks greatly enhances the flexibility and efficiency of communication and distributed computation for ground mobile devices. Federated learning (FL) provides a privacy-preserving paradigm for device collaboration but remains highly vulnerable to poisoning attacks and is further challenged by the resource constraints and heterogeneous data common to UAV-assisted systems. Existing robust aggregation and anomaly detection methods often degrade in efficiency and reliability under these realistic adversarial and non-IID settings. To bridge these gaps, we propose FedULite, a lightweight and robust federated learning framework specifically designed for UAV-assisted environments. FedULite features unsupervised local representation learning optimized for unlabeled, non-IID data. Moreover, FedULite leverages a robust, adaptive server-side aggregation strategy that uses cosine similarity-based update filtering and dimension-wise adaptive learning rates to neutralize sophisticated data and model poisoning attacks. Extensive experiments across diverse datasets and adversarial scenarios demonstrate that FedULite reduces the attack success rate (ASR) from over 90% in undefended scenarios to below 5%, while maintaining the main task accuracy loss within 2%. Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs), recognized as one of the most promising key technologies for sixth-generation (6G) mobile communications, are characterized by their minimal energy expenditure, cost-effectiveness, and straightforward implementation. In this study, we develop a novel communication channel model that integrates RIS-enabled base stations with unmanned ground vehicles. To enhance the system’s adaptability, we implement a fluid antenna system (FAS) at the unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) terminal. This innovative model demonstrates exceptional versatility across various wireless communication scenarios through the strategic adjustment of active ports. The inherent dynamic reconfigurability of the FAS provides superior flexibility and adaptability in air-to-ground communication environments. In the paper, we derive and study key performance characteristics like the autocorrelation function (ACF), validating the model’s effectiveness. The results demonstrate that the RIS-FAS collaborative scheme significantly enhances channel reliability while effectively addressing critical challenges in 6G networks, including signal blockage and spatial constraints in mobile terminals.
