Disruptions caused by disasters, pandemics, and systemic crises have increased the complexity and vulnerability of global supply chains, highlighting the need for advanced analytical approaches to risk and resilience management. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising analytical capability for improving risk assessment and decision-making in disrupted supply chains. The study follows PRISMA 2020 reporting guidelines adapted for bibliometric research and presents a bibliometric and knowledge-mapping analysis of artificial intelligence applications in disaster supply chain risk and resilience management. Using the Web of Science Core Collection, a dataset of 288 peer-reviewed publications was analyzed through keyword co-occurrence, bibliographic coupling, citation analysis, and collaboration network mapping. The findings indicate a rapidly expanding research field in which AI supports predictive risk assessment, real-time monitoring, and resilience-oriented decision-making in disaster-prone supply networks. The analysis identifies dominant thematic clusters, emerging research directions, and opportunities for integrating AI-enabled analytics into supply chain risk management frameworks. The mapped literature also suggests secondary interpretive implications for financial risk exposure and supply chain finance, rather than indicating a separately operationalized finance-specific bibliometric subfield. To enhance interpretive depth, an AI-assisted analytical layer was applied to refine thematic clusters and detect emerging trends. However, this layer operates as a complementary interpretive tool and is subject to methodological limitations, including sensitivity to keyword semantics, dependence on bibliometric outputs, and potential interpretive bias in AI-assisted thematic labeling. Consequently, the AI-assisted analysis is used to support, rather than replace, bibliometric findings. Overall, this study contributes to the emerging literature on artificial intelligence in disaster supply chain risk management and highlights future research opportunities, including improved methodological integration and enhanced analytical transparency in AI-assisted bibliometric research. Over the past few decades, legume-based intercropping has emerged as a strategic agronomic practice to enhance the sustainability and resilience of agro-ecosystems, thanks to its ability to perform biological nitrogen fixation and store soil organic carbon. The present study, given the growing recognition of agroecological practices, aims to analyze through a global bibliometric analysis the research conducted between 1986 and 2025 on legume–non-legume intercropping, with particular emphasis on its ecological and agronomic benefits. The investigation, carried out according to the PRISMA protocol on the Scopus database, selected 167 original English-language articles, excluding reviews, conference proceedings, modeling studies, and meta-analyses. China and India are identified as the most productive countries. Co-occurrence and bibliographic coupling analyses highlight thematic clusters centered on soil fertility, microbial communities, productivity, and the mitigation of environmental impact. Furthermore, management practices such as integrated rotations, cover crops, and agroforestry systems amplify the benefits in terms of carbon accumulation and resilience to adverse climate conditions. The distribution of publications by journal highlights the centrality of journals such as Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment and Plant and Soil. Overall, the data confirm the crucial role of intercropping as a pillar of the agroecological transition, underscoring the need for policies and research programs capable of amplifying its global adoption. The findings of this study may guide future interdisciplinary research and evidence-based policy decisions aimed at optimizing the design of resilient intercropping systems, tailored to address the challenges posed by climate change and the growing demands of global food security. Demographic ageing, a topic that is intensively addressed in the scientific literature, significantly influences the functioning of economic systems. Demographic ageing directly impacts the labour supply, productivity, savings, investments and the sustainability of public finances through pressure on pension and health systems. However, the efforts of ageing societies to transform and adapt to this demographic challenge through economic restructuring and innovation are recognized. Starting from the growing interest shown in the link between the demographic transformation of a society and the economic impact, the study carries out a bibliometric analysis on a dataset of 934 documents included in the OpenAlex platform, selected by filtering scientific publications according to a set of predefined criteria. The analysis of thematic clusters, co-authorship and bibliographic coupling reveals an increase in interdisciplinary research and a shift in emphasis from classical macroeconomic effects on the labour market and the financial system towards multidimensional transformations of the economic and social system, in which demographic transformation is no longer just a constraint but also a challenge towards progress through the integration of digitalization, automation and transition to AI-based economic systems to support economic development. The convergence of digital innovation and sustainability imperatives is transforming the architecture of agri-food systems, signaling not just a technological upgrade, but a reorganization of how food production, distribution, and governance are approached. This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of global research on sustainable and digital agri-food systems between 2004 and 2025, based on data from the Web of Science Core Collection and analyzed using the Bibliometrix within RStudio (Version: 2024.12.1+563). Through co-word analysis, bibliographic coupling, and temporal trend exploration, the study identified a marked surge in scholarly activity after 2020, driven by the alignment of digital innovation with major policy frameworks such as the European Green Deal and the Farm-to-Fork Strategy. Findings highlight Europe—particularly Italy, the Netherlands, and France—as the leading knowledge hub, demonstrating both institutional capacity and policy responsiveness. Thematic clusters revealed four dominant trajectories in recent research: digital governance, blockchain and traceability, circular economy integration, and ESG-based performance frameworks. These directions suggest a transition from narrow efficiency-centered approaches to more comprehensive, ethically informed, and technologically integrated agri-food systems. The study frames digitalization as both a technical infrastructure and a socio-organizational driver that reshapes transparency, accountability, and coordination within food value chains. It also outlines strategic entry points for improving interoperability, bridging digital divides, and advancing collaborative governance models across the agri-food sector. In addition to its empirical findings, the article contributes methodologically by positioning bibliometric analysis as a valuable tool for tracking major conceptual and structural shifts within food system research. In conclusion, digital transformation in agri-food systems is not merely about technological enhancement—it is a fundamental restructuring of processes, relationships, and governance mechanisms that define how food systems operate in an era of innovation, complexity, and sustainability challenges. The aim of this study is to systematically capture, synthesize, and evaluate current research trends related to Automated Multiple-Choice Question Generation as they emerge within the broader landscape of natural language processing (NLP) and large language model (LLM)-based educational and assessment research. A systematic search and selection process was conducted following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. A total of 240 eligible publications indexed in the Scopus database were identified and analyzed. To provide a comprehensive overview of this evolving research landscape, a bibliometric analysis was performed utilizing performance analysis and scientific mapping methods, supported by the Bibliometrix (version 4.2.2) R package and VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) software. The findings of the performance analysis indicate a steady upward trend in publications and citations, with significant contributions from leading academic institutions—primarily from the United States—and a strong presence in high quality academic journals. Scientific mapping through co-authorship analysis reveals that, despite the increasing research activity, there remains a need for enhanced collaborative efforts. Bibliographic coupling organizes the analyzed literature into seven thematic clusters, highlighting the main research axes and their diachronic evolution. Furthermore, co-word analysis identifies emerging research trends and underexplored directions, indicating substantial opportunities for future investigation. To the best of our knowledge, this study represents the first systematic bibliometric analysis that examines Automated Multiple-Choice Question Generation research within the context of the broader LLM-driven educational assessment literature. By mapping the relevant scientific production and identifying research gaps and future directions, this work contributes to a more coherent understanding of the field and supports the ongoing development of research at the intersection of generative AI and educational assessment. The agricultural sector is predominantly male, with approximately 30% of farms in the EU operated by women. The European Union Rural Pact, the Agri-Food Pact for Skills, and the Common Agricultural Policy have catalysed an increase in agricultural 4.0 research, with the role of women emerging as a subfield of sustainable agriculture. The primary objective of this paper is to evaluate the current literature on women’s roles in smart agriculture, examining the advantages of their participation as a digitally competent workforce that could catalyse improvements in productivity and resilience in rural areas and promote women’s empowerment. A bibliometric study was conducted utilising the Scopus database to fulfil the research objective. This led to the incorporation of 253 articles into the sample. The records were examined using performance analysis and bibliographic coupling (science mapping), facilitated by Biblioshiny 5.0 and VOSviewer 1.6.20 software. The primary findings elucidate essential concepts, predominant study themes, and the temporal progression of the research domain. The identification of numerous women’s role and socio-economic constraints affecting women, which are overlooked in the creation and implementations of technology advancements. Additionally, a research agenda was developed, alongside practical implications for managers and policymakers, to aid the formulation of inclusive agriculture 4.0 projects. Full article

Background: Blockchain has been extensively discussed for enhancing transparency, traceability, and trust in general; however, there is fragmented empirical evidence available with respect to this issue within maritime logistics. The objective is to integrate and categorize peer-reviewed publications concerning applications of blockchain in maritime logistics and related supply chain domains. Methods: A systematic literature review with PRISMA 2020 was performed in Scopus database, and after a process of screening and eligibility, a total of 78 journal articles published mainly from September 2024 were incorporated. Descriptive and bibliometric analyses were conducted, and VOS viewer-based bibliographic coupling were employed to visualize thematic structure. Results: The review identifies seven research priorities for blockchain in maritime logistics: Technological Interoperability, Economic and Operational Impact, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Adoption and Scalability, Decision-Making and Trust, Environmental Sustainability, and Standardization and Regulatory Frameworks. Blockchain’s primary advantages are enhanced data integrity and visibility, whereas key challenges include interoperability, legal/regulatory uncertainty (e.g., e-doc recognition), high costs, scalability ceilings, integration with legacy systems, and data governance fears. Conclusions: The application of blockchain in maritime logistics depends on combined technical and institutional enabling conditions; an Integrated Blockchain Adoption Framework (IBAF) is suggested, and providing practical guides based on standardization, legal convergence, and hybrid governance modes. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained prominence on sustainability agendas while raising ethical, social, and environmental challenges. This study synthesizes evidence and maps the scientific production on Human-Centered AI (HCAI) at the interface with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2020–2024. Searches in Scopus and Web of Science (Boolean operators; thematic and temporal filters), followed by deduplication, yielded 265 articles, which were analyzed with Bibliometrix/Biblioshiny version 5.1.1 and VOSviewer version 1.6.20 (0) to generate term co-occurrence maps, collaboration networks, and bibliographic coupling. The results indicate accelerated growth and diffusion of the topic, with journals such as Sustainability, IEEE Access, and Applied Sciences standing out. Three interdependent axes were identified: (i) technical performance, with emphasis on machine learning and deep learning; (ii) explainability and human-centeredness (XAI, ethics, and algorithmic governance); and (iii) socio-environmental applications oriented toward the SDGs. Underrepresentation of the Global South, particularly Brazil, was observed. It is concluded that HCAI is being consolidated as an emerging interdisciplinary field with potential to accelerate the SDGs, although there remains a need to integrate ethical, regional, and impact-assessment dimensions more systematically to achieve global targets effectively. The progressive nature of dementia necessitates early detection strategies capable of identifying preclinical cognitive decline. Gait disturbances, mediated by higher-order cognitive functions, have emerged as potential digital biomarkers in this context. This bibliometric review systematically maps the scientific output from 2010 to 2025 on the application of wearable sensor technologies and gait analysis in the early diagnosis of dementia. A targeted search of the Scopus database yielded 126 peer-reviewed studies, which were analyzed using VOSviewer for performance metrics, co-authorship networks, bibliographic coupling, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence. The findings delineate a multidisciplinary research landscape, with major contributions spanning neurology, geriatrics, biomedical engineering, and computational sciences. Four principal thematic clusters were identified: (1) Cognitive and Clinical Aspects of Dementia, (2) Physical Activity and Mobility in Older Adults, (3) Technological and Analytical Approaches to Gait and Frailty and (4) Aging, Cognitive Decline, and Emerging Technologies. Despite the proliferation of research, significant gaps persist in longitudinal validation, methodological standardization, and integration into clinical workflows. This review emphasizes the potential of sensor-derived gait metrics to augment early diagnostic protocols and advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration to advance scalable, non-invasive diagnostic solutions for neurodegenerative diseases. This study presents a systematic literature review of 307 peer-reviewed articles on collision avoidance approaches regarding the integration of maritime autonomous surface ships (MASSs) in coastal waters supply chains. The bibliographic data were retrieved from the ISI Web of Science Database and analyzed using Bibliometrix (version 4.3.3) in R and VOSviewer (version 1.6.20) to map the intellectual, thematic, and network structure of the research area. Three main research clusters were revealed through bibliographic coupling analysis: (1) autonomous collision risk management; (2) methodological approaches to maritime autonomy; and (3) adaptive maritime safety modeling. Content analysis of the identified research clusters enabled the development of a 68-item hierarchical task analysis (HTA) framework for MASS collision avoidance across three operational scenarios: (1) ship-to-object, (2) ship-to-ship, and (3) multi-ship. The results provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research, identify methodological and safety interdependencies in autonomous navigation, and offer an organized and structured perspective to support the safer and more efficient integration of MASSs into coastal waters supply chains. Purpose: Remote work continues to transform both organizational structures and individual work experiences, introducing new dynamics that can simultaneously enhance or undermine employees’ mental health and overall well-being. These evolving conditions influence levels of stress, resilience and burnout within increasingly digital and flexible work environments. The present study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how remote work affects occupational stress, mental health, burnout and employee well-being through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed literature complemented by a narrative synthesis of emerging research themes. Methods: A total of 185 peer-reviewed documents were retrieved from the Scopus database and analyzed using the VOSviewer software, version 1.6.20 (0) (Leiden University, Leiden, The Netherlands). The study employed performance analysis techniques to assess annual publication trends, identify the most influential authors and sources and evaluate citation impact. Furthermore, science mapping methods, including co-authorship, bibliographic coupling, co-citation, and co-occurrence analyses, were used to visualize the intellectual structure and thematic evolution of the field. Results: The co-occurrence analysis identified three major thematic clusters. We first explored how the abrupt shift to teleworking redefined employee well-being, the second examined the psychological consequences of evolving work environments on mental health and occupational stress and the third investigated the prevalence, determinants and contextual factors of occupational burnout across professional domains. Conclusions: The findings demonstrated complex interrelations among remote work, occupational stress, mental health, and burnout, highlighting that the accelerated adoption of remote work—especially during and after the COVID-19 pandemic—has substantially reshaped employees’ psychological health and work experiences. Thus, remote work emerges as a double-edged phenomenon that can either foster resilience and well-being or heighten stress and burnout, depending on the availability of supportive organizational structures, psychosocial resources, and adaptive coping mechanisms. Methods: We performed a bibliometric analysis of QoR-15 literature using the Scopus database (2013–June 2025). Eligible studies reporting on QoR-15 in perioperative or postoperative settings were included. Data were analyzed using VOS viewer (version 1.6.20) and CiteSpace (version 6.3) to evaluate co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, citation patterns, bibliographic coupling, and co-citation networks. Results: Of 366 records screened, 341 articles were included. A total of 1901 authors, 999 organizations, and 43 countries contributed to the development of the QoR-15 literature. China produced the most publications (n = 164, 952 citations), whereas Australia generated fewer papers (n = 16) but with the highest citation impact (1479 citations). The most cited article was Myles et al. (year 2018, 219 citations). Co-occurrence mapping highlighted clusters in translation/validation studies, enhanced recovery pathways, and regional anesthesia applications. CiteSpace cluster analysis revealed emerging research in opioid-free anesthesia, pediatric adaptations, and frailty populations. Conclusions: This first bibliometric analysis of QoR-15 literature demonstrates rapid global adoption, with substantial contributions from Asia and high-impact outputs from Australia and Europe. Trends indicate increasing use of QoR-15 in regional and opioid-sparing strategies, emergency surgery, and pediatric care. These findings highlight QoR-15 as a robust, patient-centered endpoint and provide direction for future perioperative and pain research. Full article

South Korea has become one of the most important economies in Asia. The largest Korean multinational firms are affiliated with influential family-owned business groups known as the chaebol. Despite the surging academic popularity of the chaebol, there is a considerable knowledge gap in the bibliometric analysis of business groups in Korea. In an attempt to fill this gap, the article aims to provide a systematic review of the chaebol and the role that business groups have played in the economy of Korea. Three distinct bibliometric networks are analyzed, namely the scientific collaboration network, bibliographic coupling network, and keyword co-occurrence network. Full article

Methamphetamine is a highly addictive stimulant with severe health and psychosocial consequences. Over recent decades, genetic and molecular research on methamphetamine use disorders has expanded considerably, yet a comprehensive synthesis of this growing body of literature is lacking. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis to map the scientific landscape of genetic and molecular biology research on methamphetamine use, identifying key contributors, influential publications, publication trends, and co-occurring keywords and citations. A systematic search of the Scopus database retrieved 1550 documents. After applying the inclusion criteria and manual screening, 449 peer-reviewed articles published between 1993 and 2025 were included. Performance analysis and scientific mapping were conducted using VOSviewer software through bibliographic coupling and keyword co-occurrence. The study followed the BIBLIO checklist for reporting bibliometric reviews in biomedical literature. Publication output increased markedly after 2005, peaking in 2022, followed by a decline that may reflect a shift in research priorities. The United States, China, and Japan emerged as leading contributors, underscoring their significant investment in addiction and molecular research. Keyword co-occurrence revealed strong emphasis on addiction, dopamine, neurotoxicity, gene expression, and genetic polymorphisms, highlighting their central role in the pathophysiology of methamphetamine use disorders. This bibliometric analysis demonstrates substantial growth and influence of genetic research on methamphetamine use. Despite a recent decline in publications, the field provides a solid foundation for future interdisciplinary research and funding priorities in addiction genetics. Full article

The constant evolution of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) calls for the continuous monitoring of its developments and implications through a critical review of the academic literature. While DeFi holds promise for enhancing economic activity by expanding market access for enterprises and promoting financial inclusion, concerns remain that digital assets are primarily used for speculative purposes rather than for financing the real economy. This study employs bibliometric methods to investigate whether and how the current academic literature addresses the potential influence of DeFi on real economic dynamics. Employing bibliometric methods—including co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and keyword co-occurrence analyses—focused on DeFi-related publications in the Economics and Business subject areas within the Scopus database, the study maps the knowledge base, author networks, and thematic trends and their temporal evolution, supporting regulators, researchers, and practitioners. The findings reveal that the integration of DeFi with the real economy has received limited attention in scholarly research. This highlights the need for further investigation into DeFi’s implications for financial stability, productive investment, and long-term economic growth. Full article
