Key Features of Technology Platforms for R&D to Rapidly Respond to New Outbreaks

“Key features of technology platforms for R&D to rapidly respond to new outbreaks” (2nd February 14.00‒16.00 CET) being co-hosted by the Pandemic Sciences Institute, University of Oxford; NDM Centre for Global Health Research, University of Oxford; Afrigen Biologics & Vaccines, South Africa; Friends of the Independent Panel; and Vaccines open access journal.

Synergistically, it is the first in a series of webinars to support a Special Issue set up by the open access journal Vaccines running through 2023 titled “Future of Epidemic and Pandemic Vaccines to Serve Global Public Health Needs”. A review paper to frame the focus of the Special Issue will be posted in it soon. Additionally, we plan a major report at the end of the year and policy papers and opinion pieces over the year.

Vaccine work and research is one of the primary activities of 2023 under the research theme ‘Enhancing Policy and Practice’ in our new home at the NDM Centre for Global Health Research (replacing and subsuming the activities of the global health strategy groups that some of you previously took part in), based on equitable science, research, access, and policy.
