10th Anniversary

The year 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease (TropicalMed), a peer-reviewed open access journal on tropical medicine and infectious diseases. With an Impact Factor of 2.6 and a CiteScore of 4.7, the journal is covered in Web of Science and other databases. The journal has published more than 2000 papers from more than 14,000 authors. More than 2000 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We value all contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

Journal History


The inaugural issue was released. TropicalMed was published as a quarterly journal, and as an affiliated journal of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine (ACTM).

TropicalMed was indexed in PubMed—National Library of Medicine (NLM), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).

TropicalMed indexed in PubMed Central (PMC)—National Library of Medicine (NLM), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).

TropicalMed was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).



TropicalMed was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).



TropicalMed was indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 4 (Issue 1).



TropicalMed received its first Impact Factor (3.711).

Meet Us Online at 2026 International Online Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease (CTMID 2026), 1–2 July 2026

We would like to invite you to join the 2026 International Online Conference on Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease (CTMID 2026), which will be hosted online from the 1st to 2nd July 2026. CTMID 2026 will be free of charge for presenters and visitors.

This event is chaired by Prof. Dr. John Frean and will take place entirely online, enabling participation from all over the world with no concerns regarding travel and related expenditures. CTMID 2026 provides a valuable platform to exchange cutting-edge knowledge and foster collaboration in tackling some of the world’s most pressing health issues. With sessions dedicated to Vector-Borne Diseases, One Health and Zoonotic Diseases, Neglected Tropical Diseases, and Antimicrobial Resistance, the conference reflects the urgent need for interdisciplinary approaches and global cooperation in combating infectious threats.
