Challenges and Advances of Process Control Systems, 2nd Edition
This special issue belongs to the section “Process Control and Monitoring“.
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
With 12 published papers and more than 22,000 views, the first edition of “Challenges and Advances of Process Control Systems” proved immensely popular among both potential authors and readers. This considerable success, coupled with the sustained high interest for the topic amongst the academic community, prompted our decision to propose and initiate a second edition, titled “Challenges and Advances of Process Control Systems, 2nd Edition”.
This Special Issue aims to uphold the original purpose of providing a crucial platform where researchers and practitioners can disseminate and exchange their most recent findings. This collaborative environment is essential for facilitating the exchange of the latest theoretical and technological advances in the field of process control. Beyond merely reporting results, a key goal is to identify and articulate the critical issues and novel challenges currently shaping the discipline. This particular edition places a strong emphasis on advancing the application, implementation, and rigorous development of control solutions across a variety of hardware devices. Our focus remains on advancing the effective application and development of various control devices and systems, particularly those that leverage different, cutting-edge advanced control algorithms to achieve superior performance, efficiency, and reliability.
The scope of this Special Issue, “Challenges and Advances of Process Control Systems, 2nd Edition”, encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following control system applications:
- Manufacturing and production processes;
- Power generation and distribution;
- Robotics;
- Hydraulics and pneumatics;
- Medicine and healthcare;
- Biotechnology and bioprocesses.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
