10th Anniversary

The year 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Non-Coding RNA, a peer-reviewed open access journal on non-coding RNA research dealing with elucidating the structure, function and biology of regulatory non-coding RNAs. With an Impact Factor of 3.6 and a CiteScore of 6.7, the journal is indexed within Scopus, ESCI (Web of Science), PubMed, PMC, CAPlus/SciFinder, and other databases. The journal has published more than 500 papers from more than 2000 authors. More than 1000 reviewers have reviewed the journal at least once. We equally value the contributions made by our editors, authors, and reviewers.

In honor of the journal’s 10th anniversary, we are reflecting on our past accomplishments and embarking on an exciting new chapter. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and to explore the content we have prepared for you below.

Journal History


The inaugural issue was released. Non-Coding RNA was published as a quarterly journal.

Non-Coding RNA was indexed in BIOSIS.

Non-Coding RNA announced the first edition of its Travel Award.



Non-Coding RNA became an affiliated journal of the society Cardiolinc.



Non-Coding RNA was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier).



Non-Coding RNA was indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central (PMC).



Non-Coding RNA was indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics).



Non-Coding RNA received its first CiteScore (2018) of 2.1, ranking 240/321 in the category “Genetics” and 308/407 in the category “Biochemistry”.

Non-Coding RNA adopted a bimonthly publication schedule.

Non-Coding RNA announced the first edition of its Outstanding Reviewer Award.



Non-Coding RNA received its first Impact Factor (4.3).



The year 2025 marked the 10th anniversary of Non-Coding RNA.
