Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of nanomaterials has rapidly expanded over the past two decades, driven by significant advances in synthesis technologies, radiation-assisted fabrication, and theoretical simulation methods. Radiation-based synthesis, in particular, has emerged as a clean, precise, and controllable technique for producing high-quality nanoparticles and nanostructures. Alongside these developments, chemical and advanced synthesis routes, combined with powerful modeling and simulation tools, have provided deeper insights into material behavior, optical properties, and application performance. This Special Issue builds on this rich scientific background and reflects on the growing need for integrated approaches that combine experimental, theoretical, and computational research in nanomaterials.

The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight recent progress made in nanomaterials’ fabrication, including radiation-induced synthesis, chemical methods, advanced synthesis strategies, and theoretical or simulation-based investigations. We seek to showcase cutting-edge research that enhances our understanding of nanomaterial properties—particularly optical, structural, and functional characteristics—and contributes to innovative applications in energy, environment, medicine, and emerging technologies.

We welcome submissions presenting state-of-the-art research, including novel synthesis methods, new modeling and simulation frameworks, advanced characterization studies, and application-driven developments. We encourage the submission of both original research articles and comprehensive review papers. Interdisciplinary contributions that bridge experimental results with theoretical insights are especially welcome.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
