Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue highlights selected contributions from the Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion, bringing together leading researchers working at the forefront of advanced materials for sustainable energy technologies. The collection presents recent progress in battery materials, supercapacitors, hydrogen production and storage, fuel cells, photovoltaics, and catalytic systems for energy conversion. Particular emphasis is placed on novel synthesis strategies, advanced characterization techniques, computational modeling, and device integration. By showcasing both fundamental advances and application-oriented research, this Special Issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and to accelerate the development of efficient, scalable, and environmentally responsible solutions for energy storage and conversion in support of a low-carbon future.

This Special Issue will also feature selected high-impact articles presented at the following international conference:

10th International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (mESC-IS 2026), Belgrade, Serbia, 25th–28th of May, 2026

We invite scholars and experts to submit their recent findings and to contribute to this exciting Special Issue, which pushes the frontiers of energy storage and conversion and related fields.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
