Dear Colleagues,
The continuous development of technology and industry has led to a sharp increase in the use of fossil fuels, such as coal, and the emissions of greenhouse gases mainly composed of CO2 have sharply increased. The issue of energy shortages and environmental concerns have become two major obstacles to the sustainable development of human society. CO2 conversion technology cannot only reduce the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but also obtain many high-value carbon-based fuels, which can simultaneously solve energy and environmental problems. CO2 conversion and reuse technologies, including catalytic hydrogenation technology, photocatalytic technology, biocatalytic technology, and electrocatalytic technology, provide a way to integrate carbon capture, utilization, and storage in the energy cycle.
This Special Issue will focus on the development of materials for energy conversion in CO2, such as anode materials, cathode materials, diaphragm material, electrolyte development, as well as the evaluation and improvement of reaction systems.
Submissions of original research articles, short communications, case studies, and review articles covering the following topics are encouraged:
- Carbon dioxide capture;
- Carbon dioxide conversion;
- Photocatalytic reduction of CO2;
- Electrocatalytic reduction of CO2;
- CO2 hydrogenation reforming;
- Biodiesel.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
