Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Obesity affects individuals across their lifespan, ranging from childhood to older adulthood, and it presents a complex public health challenge with biological, psychological, and social dimensions. This Special Issue will explore the intricate connections between nutritional metabolism and obesity in people of all ages, particularly emphasizing the role of interpersonal support and health communication in shaping both metabolic outcomes and behavioral change.

We welcome studies that investigate how family support, peer influence, public messaging, clinical interactions, and digital health interventions impact eating behaviors, dietary adherence, and long-term health outcomes. Particular attention will be given to research that addresses weight-related stigma, its detrimental effects on physical and mental health, and evidence-based strategies for promoting non-stigmatizing, person-centered communication in both clinical and public health settings.

We invite original research, reviews, and interdisciplinary contributions spanning nutrition science, psychology, behavioral medicine, education, and public health. The overarching goal is to advance our understanding of how supportive and inclusive communication environments can enhance obesity prevention and management across the human lifespan.
