Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Metabolic disorders, including diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases, pose major health threats across the globe. Recently, remarkable research progress has been made in uncovering the potential beneficial impacts of various tea varieties, such as green, black, oolong, and herbal teas, on these disorders. These teas are rich in diverse functional compounds such as polyphenols, alkaloids, amino acids, essential minerals, and vitamins. Through an in-depth exploration of their underlying mechanisms, ranging from antioxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics to the modulation of crucial metabolic pathways, teas have emerged as potential therapeutic agents.
This Special Issue will showcase articles that thoroughly explore the mechanisms responsible for these beneficial effects and rigorously evaluate the therapeutic potential of teas in the management of metabolic disorders. The articles included will cover a broad range of topics, from the biochemical properties of teas to clinical studies that gauge their effectiveness. By shedding light on the role of teas in promoting metabolic health, this Special Issue will contribute to the development of innovative therapeutic strategies, ultimately leading to improved global health outcomes.
