Latest Advances in Cataract Surgery

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cataract extraction is the most common surgical procedure performed worldwide, with an estimated number of over 20 million cases per year. Recent advances in surgical procedures have increased patient satisfaction and reduced the complication rate while raising new challenges concerning new techniques and technologies.

New topics in cataract surgery include femto-laser-assisted surgery, new generation IOLs, and new eye biometric measurement tools and hardware. We also aim to discuss how new technologies impact complicated cataract surgery, especially in cases with previous corneal surgery (refractive or therapeutic), combined procedures for glaucoma or vitreoretinal diseases, and intrascleral fixation techniques.

In this Special Issue, we aim to investigate recent advances in cataract surgery. We welcome original research, case series, reviews, and meta-analyses.
