Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Over the past decades, due to significant advances in medical treatment, interventional and surgical techniques, survival for patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) has significantly increased, with about 90% of patients now reaching adulthood. Nevertheless, a large percentage of patients with severe CHD remain at high risk for premature death, mainly related to heart failure and arrhythmias. On the other hand, acquired cardiovascular risk factors and coronary artery disease are now emerging as a new important cause of comorbidity in this peculiar population. Last but not least, CHD patients often desire to live like their peers, and pregnancy and sexual well-being, with their relative complications, are part of that. This Special Issue aims to describe current and future approaches in managing cardiovascular events in adult patients with CHD.
